Doug Samuel is Professor of Psychological Sciences at Purdue University and Licensed Clinical Psychologist. He is generally interested in studying the intersection of personality and psychopathology, with a particular emphasis on how dimensional models can be used clinically. Before arriving at Purdue, he received his Ph.D. from the University of Kentucky under the mentorship of Thomas A. Widiger. He then moved to Connecticut where completed a clincal internship at Yale-New Haven Psychiatric Hospital providing Dialectial Behavior Therapy and a post-doctoral fellowship within the Yale School of Medicine and the Veteran's Health Administration. Dr. Samuel originally hails from Indiana, growing up in Portage and getting his B.A. at Indiana University - Bloomington. Outside of work, he treasures spending time with his wife, Michelle, and their daughters Alexis (14) and Olivia (10), and their Golden Retriever, Hudson. In his spare time he enjoys traveling, drinking wine, and watching sports.
