The Five Factor Obsessive-Compulsive Inventory (FFOCI; Samuel, Riddell, Lynam, Miller, & Widiger, 2012) is a newly-developed measure of traits relevant to obsessive-compulsive personality disorder from the perspective of the five-factor model (FFM). It has twelve scales that were constructed to assess maladaptive variants of specific FFM facets (e.g., Perfectionism as a maladaptive variant of FFM competence). Full definitions of each trait scale can be found here: FFOCI Definitions. Each scale contains 10 items, for a total of 120 items on the entire measure. A short-form was developed using Item-Response Theory to abbreviate each scale to 4 items, for a total of 48 items.
Copies of the FFOCI versions, including translations are provided below. These are free to be used for research and clinical work with appropriate attribution.

Scoring Instructions: Scoring instructions are provided at the bottom of each measure. These indicate which items are reverse scored. Once this is done, scores for each item are summed in order to create a scale score.
Interpretive Guidelines: At present, normative data are not yet published for the FFOCI (although we hope to have this availale by early 2025). In the meantime we advise clinicians to focus their attention on scales for which the respondent answers primarily 4s (agree) and 5s (strongly agree) to the items.
Translations into Other Languages
The FFOCI has been officially translated into three languages at present. All official translations linked on this site have used best-practice procedures including translation followed by back-tranlsation. Those back-translated English versions were each inspected by Dr. Samuel as well as the translating author in order to edit as needed to arrive at an appropriate translation. Scholars interesting in translating the FFOCI in other new languages are encouraged to use this process. Please reach out to Dr. Samuel with any questions.
